Back in April of this year we talked about a cross-platform multiplayer RTS game geared a little bit more towards the hardcore gamer called AirMech coming to Android this year. Developed by Carbon Games, this RTS title looks like it could be nearing it's release thanks to a press release Carbon Games put out detailing the upcoming beta.
AirMech is still slated to be a free-to-play RTS game but by purchasing the beta bundle on Steam for $20 you get a bunch of different perks including access to all of the classes and units in the game as well as an exclusive 'Beta Bomber'. Some of you may already be playing the beta for AirMech via Chrome which has been available since February 2012 and currently logs around 250,000 players.
The mobile version for AirMech is still slated for after Summer of this year although when exactly that will be remains to be seen. The good news is that it seems to be right on time as our original report has the PC version coming out in late Summer 2012. Check out the press release and trailer below for additional details. As far as it looks right now, AirMech looks to be a tablet-based game but even though there is no word about Android phones, it could come to those as well.
Download For Android Devices { coming soon }
