Create a Firewall on Samsung Galaxy Y & All Android Device & Select Apps to Access Internet

Dear Friends With wireless carrier setting up the data limits on your mobile phone and rarely you can find unlimited plans, people are concerned whether they will hit the data limits. Importantly when it’s an Android device where Apps gets update oftently and you need your device synchronized in order to receive mail and other knowing information.

DroidWall is an Android application which allows users to setup restrictions whether they should be granted data network access or not. This application is ideal solution for those who don’t have an unlimited data plans and as you know Android is all about updates of apps, firmware and lot more, it require internet access where ever necessary. One thing that this application will work on if your phone is rooted.

DroidWall works only for rooted phones.

With Droidwall you can set up data restrictions for access over 3G or 2G and/or access over Wi Fi for each and every applications present on your mobile phone. So setting up limits of app access on 3G or 2G is good idea and granting access on Wi Fi willn’t consume any data on your phone. In turn when you are restricting data access for some phones, the ads are removed on those phones, which is a good thing for the users.

As soon as you install this application on your mobile phone and run it, you will be directly taken to the DroidWall app page.

After you have applied the settings when you exist the application you will be asked to apply the rules and its automatically restore when you restart your device.

From Menu > More there are many other options like clear log, show log, set password and set custom script. Setting up password in particular is good thing on your phone as it will restrict other users of your phone to prevent them on any of the changes done by you.

What Droidwall does is not a simple work but it’s quite useful and I would like to see this application come out with every Android phone by default. This firewall can set data limits and users can avoid higher data limits reaches. Moreover this would enhance Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS which provides Data usage details and with DroidWall it would be a complete data control on your phone.
